I'm Still Getting Over the Shock Myself

It took me two years to get to here, so I almost surprised myself at how easily I let it all go.

But really, I feel like this is just more "me."

First, I wore it straight.

Then I wanted to see what it looked like curly.

Then, the curly hair grew so big with volume as the minutes wore on (unfortunately not pictured b/c it was hysterical), that I decided to smooth out the bottom layers with a straight iron.

And then I got tired of that and straightened it again. (All of this took a mere 5 - 10 minutes per style change, which I love.)

After a day and a half of feeling shocked every time I passed by a mirror or window, I almost got used to it.  That's when I got brave enough to highlight it.  Myself.  With foils.  Yes, I was scared!  Nine bucks and 30 minutes later, I had fresh highlights that turned out just fine.  And I have enough leftover supplies to do it again w/o having to buy anything next time. :-)

Taking advantage of the opportunity to try something different yet again, I flipped my hair out this time.

Now I think I have exhausted my options and my self-portrait skills (of the lack thereof!).

Now if the weather would just warm back up again. ;-)

As I shared with my husband last night, now that I've recovered from the initial shock, I don't really miss my long hair.  Anyone who knows me well, also knows that I am sort of awkward with things.  I break things, trip over my own feet, and get flustered if I have to carry too many things at once (of course I do it anyway).  Add long hair into that mix, and it was just another thing for me to get tangled in and flustered by.  So I am enjoying new found freedom plus a fun new style to boot.  Plus, it was super fun to grow my hair out long and make a sudden, drastic change.  Adrenaline!

Happy Spring.  It's raining and dreary here today, but our grass gets a little bit greener everyday and tiny leaf buds are emerging on our apple tree. :-)
