Perhaps I Should Utilize This Blog

As some of you know, I have been mainly using this blog as a quick way to show you many photos at once without overloading your email inboxes. However, I have happily had a moment of inspiration which has given me a determination to actually WRITE on this thing, updating the world on the goings on of our little clan. (That was, after all, my original intent.) That said, take heart in knowing that photos will still accompany many of my posts. :-)

Update #1:

We have recently switched to cloth diapers. And Clay has been so supportive and sweet about the whole thing, recognizing the financial benefit and not making fun of my tree-hugging motivation. I have purchased a trial supply of a couple of different cloth diapering systems (the "old fashioned" prefolds http://wildflowerdiapers.com/store/pc/viewPrd.asp?idcategory=334&idproduct=1915 with a "new fangled" cover http://wildflowerdiapers.com/store/pc/viewPrd.asp?idcategory=438&idproduct=1753 as well as pocket diapers - my favorite! http://wildflowerdiapers.com/store/pc/viewPrd.asp?idcategory=439&idproduct=1965). In short, I LOVE it...to the extent that I'm beginning to weird myself out a little. One day while admiring one of the pocket diapers (see what I mean!?!), I thought to myself, "I bet I can make this!" So, I've been cleverly perfecting a hand-drafted pattern ever since and trying it out on whatever materials I can find around the house - an old t-shirt, tattered hand towel, you get the idea. (See how the weirdness continues here?) I've been so happy with the results that I think I am about ready to order the good (expensive) material for making the real thing! This will get us the beloved pocket diapers for half the cost (or less) of the store-bought ones with similar quality. By the way, these diapers should outlast the baby poops of several children not yet born.

All that diaper talk is to inform you and likewise warn you of my new, fierce allegiance to cloth. Please forgive me if when we see each other I gush about diapers. I promise that I am trying to keep my weirdness under control. Ask my husband.

Update #2:

Gabriella (yes, we do call her that instead of Bella sometimes) is not crawling but IS pulling up on...stuff - Bumbo chair, the couch, me, her book on the floor. Basically the kid just wants to stand. She scoots and lunges and wiggles and rolls all across the floor (rather slowly if you ask me, unless she is after your cell phone) but she is neither technically crawling nor happy with this mode of transportation. So we stand stand stand. I have taken to pulling back one of the couch cushions to give her something to pull up on that is a good height. (Now I can appreciate that she spits up both on top of the couch cushion and underneath it. Ha ha!) Anyway, here are some snapshots of this phenomenon.

This is the first time she pulled up on something! I walked into the livingroom and encountered this scene. :-)

Thanks for reading! Check back soon because I'm going to try my best to consistently post!

Diapers Diapers Diapers...I'm all about the tree hugging!

Oddly enough I rather enjoyed the blog on diapers...

and I can't post a comment without saying that your child is amazing! I wish I could be there to play with her and watch her scoot.
